What To Expect During Your Exam


Range of Motion Assessment

Purpose: Assess for areas of decreased or increased mobility that lead to muscle guarding and bony degeneration.

Use: Determine areas of restricted movement or abnormal movement patterns that need to be addressed in your treatment plan.


Movement Screen

Purpose: Assess for joint stability and mobility to identify imbalances or weaknesses.
Without proper stability, it is hard to hold on to positive gains made in treatment.

Use: Determine which rehabilitative exercises will suit your specific needs, no cookie cutter protocols here.


Posture Assessment

Purpose: Assess for areas of Postural misalignments that cause pain by placing unnatural, uneven stress on muscles, ligaments, nerves, and joints, forcing the body to overcompensate.

Use: To help determine which adjustments, therapies and postural exercises will be beneficial to your specific needs.


Orthopedic and Neurological Assessment

Purpose: Assess for specific orthopedic and neurological signs and symptoms that are present.

Use: Determine if existing conditions will need to be treated, affect your treatment plan, or require evaluation by a specialist.


Palpatory Exam

Purpose: Assess for abnormal mobility, hypertonicity, muscle spasms, and/or trigger points.

Use: Determine areas that require special attention to avoid further degeneration and pain.
